SUPREME COURT ISSUES FAVORABLE DECISION FOR FIRM’S CLIENTS IN GOOGLE V. ORACLE

On April 5, 2021, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the firm’s client in Google v. Oracle, No. 18-956. The Court ruled 6-3 that Google did not violate Oracle’s copyright in Java when Google created the Android operating system because the small amount of copying Google conducted constituted fair use.
