Supreme Court Holds That Plaintiffs’ State Law Securities Claims Can Go Forward

On February 26, 2014, the Supreme Court ruled 7-2 in favor of the firm's clients in Chadboune & Parke LLP v. Troice. Tom Goldstein argued for the respondents. In an opinion written by Justice Breyer, the Court held that the Securities Litigation Uniform Standards Act of 1998 does not bar the plaintiffs' state law class actions.
