Court Grants Firm Petition in RESPA case

In October, the Supreme Court granted the firm's petition in Freeman v. Quicken Loans, a case involving the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA).  The petition presents the question whether a settlement services provider violates RESPA by charging fees for services it never performed only if the fee is divided with another provider, as in a kickback arrangement.  Kevin Russell will argue the case for the consumers in March 2012.
